Eminem- Survival
We chose Eminem's song Survival because the lyrics that are used within the video are interesting and as a group we believed we could use these lyrics to come up with a very strong music video. In terms of a genre we knew that rap/hip-hop would be a difficult genre to create a music video for taking miming and mise-en-scene into account, however we decided to go with it anyway due to its uniqueness as we did had already ruled out some genres which did not match our requirements. The artist Eminem is also a very popular artist especially in the world of rap so we were very familiar with his previous work and it has given us a few ideas to start with. After looking at various music videos both professional and other's a2 work, we decided to go with a narrative based song rather than a performance based one as we believed that it was easier to do and also it would allow us t create a captivating and more interesting music video.
Another video that we discussed was Tears by Clean Bandit, however we decided against it because we believed the lyrics to be difficult to work with as we also did not want to steer down the road of doing a romance music video because we believed these to be too common and we wanted to create a video which stands out from the rest.
