Clean Bandit-Tears
This was the first music video that we looked at together as a group. On first impression we loved the lyrics and the tune of the song. However, after watching the video we weren't overly impressed as it was a video which did not have a real connection to the lyrics being sung by the artist which made us think as a group that maybe this was for a reason and that it would be very difficult for us to produce a music video to accompany these lyrics and rhythm. We had also decided following this video that we did not want to really go down the path of the genre of romance because if it is done wrong then it can be seen as very cringy and cheesy. As we wanted to produce a high quality music video we decided to not attempt this genre and we believed, after coming up with some initial ideas for this song that we did not want to attempt it.
Bon Jovi-You Give Love a Bad Name
The other song which we listened to as part of our research is Bon Jovi's song "You Give Love a Bad Name." We listened to this one because it is a performance based song and therefore we could just focus on the lyrics of the song to create a music video instead of taking ideas from the video of the song. However we thought it would be very difficult to create a music video to a song which does not originally have one. Although we knew it would be possible, we decided against it because of the uncertainty and also we had a lot less ideas for a video than the other 2 songs that we looked at.
